Join us to celebrate 40 years of the Sydney Gay and Lesbina Mardi Gras at Hay’s very first Rainbow on the Plains Festival! A Festival of fun, support and celebration of our local and visiting LGBTI community!
With a population of about 2,500, Hay is located halfway between Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, and sits along the banks of the mighty Murrumbidgee River. Over the 2018 Mardi Gras weekend, Hay will host a number of events including a Street Parade, a Party and a Recovery Brunch Picnic.
Frock up or just rock up for the glamour of Hay's first Mardi Gras Street Parade on Saturday 3 March. Later that day, the Hay Services Club will be the venue to Party. There will be Drag performers, DJs and fabulous food stalls from local makers. Crowning of the very first ‘Mardi of the Gras’ and watch the live telecast of the Mardi Gras Parade from Sydney. A Recovery Brunch Picnic at Sandy Point Beach on Sunday 4 March, rounds out the weekend.
